The Rubettes and the Tremoloes had close ties over the years. Mick Clarke was of course a member of both bands, Rick Westwood
provided guitar, banjo and pedal steel to the 'Sometime In Oldchurch album and Alan Blakely produced several of the Rubettes
hit singles
So it was not a big surprise when Bob Benham, formerly of the Tremoloes, was introduced as the new guitarist replacing
Tony Thorpe.
Tony still featured heavily on the forthcoming album 'Still Unwinding' contributing several songs including the single
'Movin'.
'Still Unwinding ' was not received very well at the time but history has been kind to the collection and it has become
a critical success in recent years.
